added updated antiquiet demos

It’s been quiet at the dot net these past few months gremmies. Pearl Jam hasn’t seen much activity save for a show here, or a side project there. KJ and I have been working on a project for the site for a while, but we aren’t ready to launch. Who is KJ you ask? Go here. He’s our resident artist at the dot net; signed on in January.

We’ve added updated versions of the Antiquiet demos. gremmie Mike Liedtke sent us this a week ago:

Hi,

My name is Mike Liedtke. I used to run a college radio station and am obsessed with sound. I found myself annoyed by the tape skips in the Antiquiet demos that were clearly not in the actual tracks and felt they took away from the listening experience. Using my audio editing skills and software (along with a bit of time), I have taken out the skips, but none of the actual songs. I also imbedded the art and correctly tagged the songwriter on the two covers. Anyhow, I’m sending those along to you guys over a few emails so that other folks might get to enjoy the songs all the more. All the best.

Good morning gremmies. It’s been more than two months since the 12-12-12 concert for Hurricane Sandy relief. Enough time has elapsed that we feel ok posting Ed and Roger Waters singing “Comfortably Numb”. You may recall the official concert recording was sold via iTunes and proceeds went to benefit victims of the tempestuous storm. You can find it here.

KJ and I have some things in the works for you gremmies for March. Do stay tuned.

Evening gremmies. A quick one. We’ve added PJ Radio’s Yield 15th Anniversary show from Sirius Radio hosted by – among others – JR from twofeetthick. You can find it here. It’s also been added to gremmie radio for future downloading. Enjoy. In the next few days we’ll pull out the Red Mosquito demo from the show (called “Small Mosquito”) and host it on the dot net. Good evening gremmies. By now you’ve heard that our friends at Antiquiet have unearthed and released new Eddie Vedder demos. No? Well here’s their news post about it. The tracklist may look familiar because most of the songs have been on the dot net for several years. Homeless, What?, Believe You Me, etc. Ed in Bad Radio. Boring right? You’ve heard it before haven’t you? Well hold on there tiger. Antiquiet’s pack of demos includes two songs I’ve never heard before. That is, Wonderful World (Sam Cooke) and Something Inside So Strong (made famous by Kenny Rogers).

For posterity, we have uploaded them to the Bad Radio Demos page here. Yes, we know some of these songs are pre-Bad Radio, but give us a break huh? You should head over to Antiquiet to give them the traffic. After all, it’s their find, not ours. But we’ll have it on the dot net ad infinitum in case you lose it.

Good morning gremmies; a quick one. We’ve added this year’s ho-hum Christmas Single to the Christmas Singles page on the dot net. Why ho-hum? Two live tracks from PJ20? Don’t we have enough live tracks to listen to? Are we spoiled? Seems that way. Whatever your opinion you can find them here.
