Of Spam and Soaps

I’ve been meaning to post the picture below for some time now but have not had the opportunity to do so. Between work and a myriad of other activies, time has not permitted me much slack. The silly old adage that reads, “A picture is worth a thousand words” is evidently true. For those not well versed in wanderlust and bliss, the image depicts two bunches of clothes adjacent to one another.

I saw Spamalot last Thursday, missing band practice with Gremmie’s Noisebucket all the while. As a musical, it was very good. I had a creeping suspicion that had I not seen Monty Python and the Holy Grail a prior 25 times I would have enjoyed it more. Irking my charge, I mouthed, sottovoce, 75% of the dialogue as it is directly ripped from the movie. Hank Azaria was the highlight. During the Knights of Ni scene where the Knights’ paterfamilias exclaims they are no longer the Knight who say “Ni”, but rather are now known as the Knights who say “Icki Icki Sepoin….”, Hank Azaria improv-ed a line that reference the current hunting mishap that has befallen our morally flexible vice president. The entire cast was in stitches for a good minute or so, which for the quickly paced millieu of a musical seems like a year. It was great. It made the show rather special.

Jillian and I went to Anthropolgie a week or so ago. A bought her a sundress and some other unmentionables. Soap is one of them so don’t let your minds wander too far into the abyss. Here’s a picture of her in said dress. Click on it for high-resolution version. Those are my socks she’s wearing. She looks captivating.
